Read & Spell High-Frequency Words

In Foundations B students will learn 21 multi-letter phonograms, 8 spelling rules, and 3 silent final E rules. Students apply will apply these new skills to reading and spelling one-syllable words including 294 new high-frequency words.

Blend & Segment Two-Syllable Words

As students progress with Foundations B, they will practice blending and segmenting two-syllable words in preparation for reading and spelling two-syllable words in Foundations C. Foundations B also builds phonological sensitivity with practice rhyming and substituting sounds.

Write Uppercase A-Z

Foundations B includes instructions for how to write the uppercase letters. The Teacher's Manual includes instructions to teach how to write the letter in both manuscript and cursive.

Foundations B Workbooks are available in a Manuscript or Cursive version.

Fiction Readers

Foundations B uses two sets of controlled readers to develop fluency and comprehension. Each set includes eight readers for a total of sixteen titles developed to support the Foundations curriculum. Both sets are included in Lessons in the Foundations B Teacher's Manual.
